Founded in 2010 by Executive Artistic Director Allyne D. Gartrell, Atlanta Dance Connection stands as one of Atlanta’s premier contemporary dance companies—boldly embodying its identity as Atlanta’s Ambassadors of Dance. Rooted in excellence, cultural richness, and innovation, the company is dedicated to elevating Black artistry while cultivating the next generation of dynamic performers.
Under the leadership of Gartrell, alongside Assistant Director LeVon Campbell, Atlanta Dance Connection creates transformative spaces where young artists are empowered to develop, grow, and flourish. Through professional and pre-professional training, performance opportunities, and mentorship, the company bridges discipline with creative expression at the highest level.
Atlanta Dance Connection extends its impact beyond the stage through education, outreach, and community engagement. With programs such as summer intensives and partnerships with organizations including I AM Arts, the International Association of Blacks in Dance (IABD), South Arts, Seven Stages, and Connected Friends Foundation, the company continues to shape a vibrant, inclusive future for dance.
